Tom has lived in southwest Missouri for over 35 years. He began his real estate career while a senior in college working as a leasing agent for a local real estate development company. In 1990 he started Rankin Company specializing in the general brokerage of commercial real estate. In 2006 Rankin Company affiliated with the National Brokerage Firm Sperry Van Ness.

Tom has represented many local companies looking to expand or relocate their business, as well as many other out-of-town companies looking to take advantage of the strong Springfield economy. He has helped many investors diversify their portfolio into real estate and investments. A few of his current projects include North Creek Business Park, a 100 acre office and warehouse distribution development in Northeast Springfield; the Shoppes at James River, a 15 acre retail land development in Southeast Springfield which includes land leases with a Houlihan's Restaurant and a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel; and Springfield Plaza, a 100 acre commercial development in West Springfield, ultimately containing over 700,000 sq. ft. of National and Regional Retailers. EDUCATION/ASSOCIATIONS:

BS in Finance and Minor in Real Estate at Southwest Missouri State University, 1988. Member of NAIOP, a National Commercial Developer's Association. Member of ICSC, International Council of Shopping Centers.

DESIGNATION:

Received CCIM (Certified Commercial investment Member Designation) in 1993. The CCIM designation is considered the Ph.D. of Commercial Real Estate and held by approximately 6,000 individuals.
